Irish Countrywomen's Association
Tower Branch
Tower ICA was founded in 1959, when word went out to the women of Ireland that it was time that an ICA Guild was established in the village.
The main aim of the Irish Countrywomen’s Association was to improve the social and living conditions of the women of Ireland. On that first night, 42 local ladies joined the Tower branch of the ICA, and meetings have been held twice monthly in Tower Hall ever since. Down through the years Tower ICA has been a strong and vibrant branch of the guild and, 54 years later, the Guild has 50 members.
They are involved in everything from Charity walks, arts and crafts, singing, dancing, pitch and putt, you name it, they do it.
Meetings are held on the first and last Tuesday of each month in Tower Hall, and new members are always made welcome. Come along to one of the meetings and you will want to come again.
Contact number is 021 7332339.
