11th Cork (Cloghroe) Scout Group was founded in 1974 to provide Scouting in the Tower and Cloghroe community and has since operated continuously.
Today we have more than 100 youth members in five sections:

Beaver Scouts (age range 6-9) meet at Tower Hall on Monday evenings from 6.00pm to 7.15pm

Cub Scouts (age range 9-12). Tuesday Pack meet at Tower Hall on Tuesday evenings from 6.45pm to 8.00pm and Wednesday Pack meet at Tower Hall on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.45 pm

Scouts (age range 12-15) meet at Inniscarra Community Centre on Wednesday evenings 8.00pm to 9.30pm

Venture Scouts (age range 15-18) meet at St. Ann’s Hydro, Tower on Fridays at 7.00pm

A uniformed organisation with sections led by volunteer adult leaders, Scouting Ireland provides an age graded programme based on ‘learning by doing’ to develop self-reliance & social development among young people through activities such as camp craft, hill walking, expeditions, kayaking and many more.

The group has been expanding rapidly over the past number of years and currently is planning to open an additional Beaver unit to cater for an extensive waiting list in September.
