Garden of Remembrance
2016

A special Mass, celebrated by the curate Father Tom McDermott and enhanced by the Berrings Church Choir, was followed by a procession, led by piper Liam Kenny, from the church to the Garden through a guard of honour formed by Berrings National School pupils waving National flags. At the introduction by Master of Ceremonies Brendan Walsh the Garden was blessed by Father McDermott and Sergeant Denis McGarry read the Proclamation of Independence and raised the National flag to the singing of the National Anthem.
Berrings Tidy Towns, which was formed in 2009 with an aim to enhance the local environment and natural amenities, made the creation of a Remembrance Garden their project for 2016.
